Flavor symmetry breaking in spin-orbit coupled bilayer graphene

Recent experimental discovery of flavor symmetry breaking metallic phases in Bernal-stacked bilayer graphene points to the strongly interacting nature electrons near top (bottom) its valence (conduction) band. Superconductivity was also observed between these when is placed under a small in-plane magnetic field or close proximity monolayer WSe$_2$ substrate. Here we address correlated band edge and obtain quantum phase diagram their many-body ground states incorporating effect induced spin-orbit coupling. We find that addition spin/valley polarized half quarter states, two types intervalley coherent emerge boundaries metals. Both coupling disfavor spin-unpolarized valley phase. Our findings suggest possible competition coherence superconducting orders, arising from intriguing correlation effects presence
